PROVO, Utah – No. 11 BYU women’s soccer continues its five-game home stand Friday evening, hosting Auburn at South Field.

THE COUGARS. No. 11 BYU women’s soccer (2-0-1, 0-0 Big 12) played then-No. 4 UCLA in a top-25 matchup on South Field Saturday, Aug. 23. The Cougars secured the 1-0 victory, courtesy of a successful penalty kick by junior Ellie Walbruch in the 14th minute. Walbruch has scored all three of BYU’s goals in its last two games and leads the team in shots with 12. With Saturday’s goal, Walbruch now has 15 career goals. Sophomore goalkeeper Paiton Collins secured her first collegiate shutout against UCLA, tallying three crucial saves on the night.

THE TIGERS. Auburn (2-1-1, 0-0 SEC) faced Kennesaw State on Sunday, Aug. 24 at Auburn Soccer Complex, beating the Owls 6-0 on Senior Day. The Tigers outshot the Owls 28-0 and senior Erin Flurey scored four goals in the shutout victory.

COUGARS VS. TIGERS. BYU has faced Auburn just twice in program history. The series is tied 1-1, with BYU’s last victory coming in 2012. The last time the teams met was in 2021 when the Tigers beat the Cougars 2-1 at the Auburn Soccer Complex.
