No. 11 BYU vs. No. 8 Arkansas

THE COUGARS. No. 11 BYU women’s soccer (3-0-1, 0-0 Big 12) is now 3-0 against top-25 opponents this season. The Cougars last played Auburn on South Field Friday evening in front of a sold out crowd of 4,482 fans, beating the Tigers 2-0. A cross from Mika Krommenhoek found a Tiger defender in the box, who in an effort to clear the ball kicked it into her own goal, giving BYU a 1-0 lead. Cougar sophomore defender Presley Freeman scored her first collegiate goal in the 79th minute to solidify the 2-0 shutout victory. After beating UCLA and Auburn, the Cougars are 2-0 on South Field, while goalkeeper Paiton Collins has not allowed any goals scored at home so far this season. Both home games for the Cougars were in front of sold out crowds.

THE RAZORBACKS. No. 8 Arkansas (1-2-1, 0-0 SEC) last played No. 3 Duke Thursday evening at Razorback Field, falling to the Blue Devils 2-0. Arkansas has played three top-15 programs so far this season, with a record of 0-2-1. In the Razorbacks’ win against Georgia Southern on Sunday, Aug. 24, former BYU forward Erin Bailey scored her first goal for Arkansas. Before transferring to Arkansas, Bailey played three seasons for the Cougars, tallying 17 goals and two assists in 57 games played.

COUGARS VS. RAZORBACKS. BYU has played Arkansas three times in program history, and the Razorbacks lead the overall series 2-0-1. The last time the two teams met was in 2024 when BYU fell to then-No. 6 Arkansas 4-2 at Razorback Field. Now playing for Arkansas, Bailey scored against the Razorbacks just last season in BYU’s loss.
