PROVO, Utah – No. 1 women’s cross country will host their first meet of the season, the Autumn Classic, on Friday morning at Lakeside Sports Complex in Orem.
After winning both the Big 12 Championship and the NCAA National Championship last season, BYU has earned the No. 1 seed in the USTFCCCA national preseason poll.
The Cougars are led by All-American Riley Chamberlain, who ran a 19:59.40 to take 31st in last year’s national championship. The junior is included in this week’s lineup.
Taylor Lovell, Taylor Rohatinsky and Nelah Roberts were a part of last year’s national championship squad and are set to compete in Friday’s meet. Rohatinsky was BYU’s fourth runner to cross the line at last year’s nationals, placing 43rd.
Vanessa Alder, Jacey Harkins-Farmer and Lexi Goff-Thompson are also included in the lineup for the meet.
Admission is free for the event.
