IRVING, Texas – Nelah Roberts was named the Big 12 Runner of the Week, the conference announced Tuesday afternoon.
The Idaho Falls, Idaho, native earned the honor after winning last week’s Autumn Classic. Roberts ran the three-mile course in 15:20.82, picking up her first career win in the process. The time was more than nine seconds faster than her finish in last year’s Autumn Classic.

Last cross country season, the sophomore was part of the NCAA Championship squad, finishing 83rd in 20:27.40.
Roberts earned the second women’s Big 12 Runner of the Week award of the year and the first of the season for a Cougar. Additionally, men’s cross country athlete Davin Thompson received this week’s men’s honor.
