THE COUGARS. BYU women’s soccer (8-4-3, 3-3-2 Big 12) played then-No. 21 Colorado on South Field Monday evening, battling to a 2-2 draw. All four goals came in the first half of the match. BYU’s Ellie Walbruch scored her 10th goal of the season, followed by true freshman Mia Goettsche’s fourth of the year. Mika Krommenhoek, Camryn Jorgensen and Lucy Kesler added assists on the night. After goalkeeper Paiton Collins went down with an injury in the second half, Utah transfer Chelsea Peterson played her first minutes at BYU. She tallied her first two saves as a Cougar to hold the Buffs scoreless through the second half.
THE JAYHAWKS. Kansas (10-3-3, 4-3-1 Big 12) last played Cincinnati on Sunday, Oct. 19 and beat the Bearcats, 1-0. The Jayhawks are just above the Cougars in the Big 12 standings, sitting at seventh in the conference. Their top goal-scorer this season, Lexi Watts, tallied the Jayhawks' lone goal Sunday afternoon. Kansas now has its first 10-win regular season since 2019.
