INDIANAPOLIS — BYU swim head coach Tamber McAllister was recently appointed as the Big 12’s representative for the NCAA Division I Men’s and Women’s Swim and Dive Oversight Committee.

McAllister’s official position is a representative of an autonomy conference, including the ACC, Big Ten, Big 12 and SEC. As the representative for the Big 12, McAllister will work with 17 other committee members, including five other head coaches, to ensure the integrity and efficiency of NCAA swimming and diving.

The NCAA’s oversight committees serve as the governing body when it comes to Division I championship sports procedures, administration and legislation.

The NCAA states the roles of these committees as regulating and governing the following: conduct of athletics personnel, recruiting, playing and practice seasons, processes and procedures related to the administration of the regular season and championship, and sportsmanship and other ethical behaviors.

McAllister enters her second year as the Cougars’ head coach and will serve as the Big 12’s representative on the Swim and Dive Oversight Committee until August 2027.
