PROVO, Utah — BYU head coach Trent Pratt today announced the 2026 baseball signing class with 12 players from six different states, including five college transfers and seven high school standouts.
“This is a larger recruiting class than normal, because we have a lot of seniors on our current roster,” Pratt said. “With this in mind, we recruited and signed several high-quality transfers with collegiate experience who could come in next year and compete in the Big 12 Conference right away.”
Joining the Cougars as college transfers are RHP Trevor Ainsworth of Wharton Junior College, LHP Kohl Kilcrease of College of Central Florida, LHP Jorge Roman of Eastern Arizona, RHP Austin Torres of Riverside College and infielder/outfielder Bear Testerman of Polk State.
High school signees include RHP Maddox Burnett of Erie HS (Colorado), RHP Cayden Hammond of Huntington Beach HS (California), RHP Hogan Hawkins of Silverado HS (Las Vegas), RHP Keaton Nordick Pleasant Grove HS (Utah), catcher Cache Poulson of American Fork HS (Utah), outfielder Jadyn Robinson of Pittsburg High School (Antioch, California) and outfielder Dimitri Willams, Jr. of Bishop O’Dowd HS (Oakland, California).
“To be successful in the Big 12, you have to be good up the middle and that, of course, starts on the mound,” Pratt said. “We signed seven pitchers that we really like and will improve our pitching staff right away. We also found guys who can come in and contribute at catcher, middle infield and centerfield.”
