PROVO, Utah — BYU softball head coach Gordon Eakin has announced the signing of 10 student-athletes to join the program for the 2027 season.
“We are excited to be signing this class as the next group of Cougars,” BYU assistant coach Allie Hancock-Schneemann said. “This class brings a good mix of power, speed and strong pitching to our lineup. They are all tough competitors who come from some of the top club teams in the country, such as Batbusters Stith, Athletics Mercado-Smith, Arizona Rising Appel, Iowa Premier and Warriors McDonald, etc. We have high expectations for this group and can’t wait to have them in a Cougar uniform.”
The Cougars’ 2026 recruiting class, ranked No. 50 in the nation by D1Softball, features 10 signees from seven different states and includes three outfielders, two right-handed pitchers, a pair of middle infielders, one first baseman, a catcher and utility player.
"I’m extremely excited about the signing of Kayden and Kyleigh, and how greatly they will add to our pitching staff," associate head coach Pete Meredith said. "Both will make a huge impact on day one."
"We are not only excited about the talent level of this class but they are also incredible young women," Eakin added. "They will be great representatives for BYU and Cougar softball as we strive to make a positive difference in the world."
