PROVO, Utah – No. 1 BYU will compete in the NCAA Mountain Regionals at the Regional Athletic Complex in Salt Lake City on Friday morning.

The Cougars are coming off of their third-straight Big 12 title. Led by Jane Hedengren’s individual title, BYU claimed 38 points to combat Iowa State’s 71.

In order to qualify for the NCAA National Championship in Columbia, Missouri on Nov. 22, the team must finish in the top two at the regional round. If they do not place in the top two, the NCAA DI Cross Country Subcommittee will then choose 13 teams at-large to round the 31-team field at the championship.

BYU has qualified for the last 10 NCAA championships.
