PROVO, Utah - No. 2 BYU will compete in the NCAA National Championships on Saturday morning at Gans Creek Cross Country Course in Columbia, Missouri.

The Cougars are entering the final meet of the 2025 season with four wins and one second-place finish. Most notably, the program won its third-straight Big 12 Conference title.

Associate director of track and field Diljeet Taylor and her women return to the course after winning Missouri Pre-Nationals last month with 25 points, 145 points ahead of the second-place team. Freshman Jane Hedengren shattered the Gans Creek Cross Country Course course record as she clocked an 18:42.30, over 23 seconds ahead of the second-place individual. The 6,000-meter grass course will remain the same as BYU seeks to benefit from its prior experience on the course.

Taylor has led the Cougars to their 10th-straight trip to the National Championship. Under Taylor, BYU has claimed two national titles (2020-21 and 2024) and one individual champion (Whittni Orton). The program is setting its sights on its seventh national title.
