PROVO, Utah - No. 8 BYU will compete in the NCAA National Championships on Saturday morning at Gans Creek Cross Country Course in Columbia, Missouri.
The Cougars are entering the final meet of the 2025 season after taking second at the NCAA Mountain Regional with five athletes earning All-Region honors by finishing in the top 25.
Led by head coach Ed Eyestone, the Cougars returns to the course in Columbia, Missouri after taking 5th at the Gans Creek Classic with 199 points in September of this year. Freshman Tayvon Kitchen is set to lead the Cougars after taking 15th overall at the Big 12 Championship and 5th at the NCAA Mountain Regional.
Eyestone has led the Cougars to their 27th-straight trip to the National Championship. Under Eyestone, BYU has claimed two national titles (2019 and 2024) and claimed one of the top three team finishes six times all in the last eight years. Eyestone has also coached two individual National Champions in Connor Mantz (two time champion in 2020 and 2021) and Josh Rohatinsky (2006).
