BERKELEY, Calif. — BYU men’s tennis opened play at the ITA Sectional Championships, which serve as a qualifying pathway to the ITA National Fall Championships, on Thursday morning as TJ Wells and Caden Hasler earned a 6-7(2), 6-3 win over Gonzaga.
With the victory, the Cougars advance to the quarterfinals, where they will face Pepperdine’s Gustavo Ribeiro de Almeida and Lasse Poertner, who are coming off an upset win over the hometown Golden Bears.
The quarterfinals are scheduled for Friday at 9 a.m. PT.
