PROVO, Utah — BYU women’s volleyball head coach Rob Neilson announced the hiring of Kennedi Hansen as director of operations on Wednesday afternoon.

Hansen joins assistant coach Chloe Hirst as the second member of Neilson's staff, both coming down from Utah State.

She served as an assistant coach and director of operations in Logan last season, helping the Aggies to an undefeated Mountain West slate, Mountain West tournament title and a First Round upset of No. 7 seed Tennessee, USU’s first NCAA Tournament win since 2001.

As a middle blocker at Utah State, Hansen helped the Aggies to three-straight Mountain West titles, with regular season championships in 2021 and 2023, and a conference tournament title in 2022.

She was named to both the All-Mountain West team and All-Mountain West Tournament team as a senior in 2022, holds the program’s career hitting percentage (.362) record and has the highest hitting percentage (.813) in a single match.
