PROVO, Utah — The BYU Cougars women’s tennis team continues its early spring road swing this weekend with a pair of matches in Idaho, opening play Friday at Boise State Broncos before traveling to face Idaho State Bengals on Saturday.
BYU enters the weekend following a road trip to San Diego, falling to San Diego, 6–1, before earning a 6–1 victory over Cal Poly at the Aztec Tennis Center.
The two-match weekend keeps the Cougars away from Provo as they look to continue building consistency early in the dual season. Friday’s matchup marks BYU’s first meeting of the spring with Boise State before the Cougars close the weekend against Idaho State in Pocatello.
Boise State enters the weekend with a 1–1 record after opening the season with a home win over Idaho State before falling on the road at No. 22 Washington. BYU holds a 17–3 advantage in the all-time series against the Broncos.
Saturday’s match against Idaho State will take place at Reed Gym and marks the Bengals’ home opener. Idaho State is seeking its first win of the spring after opening the season with losses to Boise State and Utah. BYU is 2–0 all-time against the Bengals.
Following the Idaho trip, BYU will remain on the road with upcoming matches against Arkansas State Red Wolves and Memphis Tigers on Feb. 6–7 in Memphis, Tennessee.
