LAKEVILLE, Mass. — The BYU men’s tennis team (5-0) started its road trip on a positive note with a 5-2 win over Stonehill (3-3) Tuesday afternoon at the Lakeville Athletic Club.

The victory marked the Cougars’ fifth win in a row, starting the season 5-0 for the first time since 2018, when BYU opened the year by winning its first seven matches.

Tuesday’s match began in BYU’s favor as the Cougars clinched the opening doubles point with a pair of close wins. Tygen Goldammer and TJ Wells, now 2-0 as a duo, earned a 7-5 victory, while freshman pairing Yubel Ubri and Caden Hasler took their match 6-4, giving Ubri his first collegiate doubles win. With the doubles point secured, court one featuring Adam Chodur and Otto Schreiner was left unfinished at 6-6.

After clinching the doubles point, BYU kept the momentum in singles with straight-set wins on all four winning courts.

Chodur led the way with back-to-back 6-3 sets, earning his fourth straight singles win of the season. Goldammer followed with another straight-set victory to remain undefeated at 5-0 on the year. Brothers Hardy Owen and Redd Owen added wins of their own, with R. Owen picking up his first singles victory of the 2026 campaign.

Stonehill was able to get on the board with wins on the two remaining courts, including a match decided by retirement after Ubri was forced to withdraw due to injury.
