GREENSBORO, N.C. — BYU wrapped up Day One of the Big 12 championship, sitting in seventh with 136 points.

BYU saw two top-10 times set, with Sophie Scoville finishing the 50 butterfly in 24.96, the fourth-fastest time in BYU history, and Annie Reichner Plumb finishing the 50 backstroke in 25.88, the eighth-fastest time in program history. Both record-setting performances occurred in the time-trial portion of the meet Tuesday morning.
Swimming
Alongside the two top-10 performances in the time-trial portion of Tuesday’s competition, BYU swam in two relay events. In the 200 medley relay, Emma Marusakova, Lucy Warnick, Sarah Eliason and Tatum Cooley finished in 1:39.42, earning sixth.
In the 800 freestyle relay, Haylee Tiffany, Cooley, Kara Martinson and Victoria Schreiber took sixth in 7:15.50.
Diving
BYU competed in just one diving event Tuesday — the team event. The team event combines all three disciplines, including the 1-meter, 3-meter and platform events, and combines total scores as programs compete against other programs.
The Cougars ended the team event in ninth, earning a total score of 233.90.
