PROVO, Utah — After a few months of renovations in BYU's Student Athlete Building, Legacy Hall has been updated with a new design and new features.

Since the Student Athlete Building was built in 2003, this was the first major renovation of the Legacy Hall area.

Legacy Hall is now open to the public during regular business hours. A few final elements are still being worked on, but the majority of the project has been completed.

Perhaps the most notable change has been seen in the main atrium on the first floor with trophy cases moved out of the area to create a space that can be utilized for various BYU Athletics events. The space also features the addition of a 20-foot vertical video board that can be utilized for highlights, welcome announcements and a variety of other messaging purposes.

Legacy Hall will continue to be a place to showcase the history of the BYU Football program with new exhibits and design elements to display trophies, memorabilia and showcase the players and coaches who've made the program what it is.

New design elements will also showcase the unique culture within the BYU Football program, how The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints impacts that culture and how missionary service, community service and faith are essential staples of the program.

A new trophy case on the second floor features trophies and memorabilia from a few former BYU Football greats and includes items such as Trevor Matich's emmys, Tom Holmoe's Athletic Director of the Year trophy, Steve Young's NFL MVP trophy (and Wheaties box), the flag that flew at the College Football Hall of Fame to celebrate the 1984 national championship and more.
