PROVO, Utah — No. 23 BYU gymnastics travels south for a head-to-head meet against Southern Utah on Friday evening at the America First Event Center.

THE COUGARS. No. 23 BYU last faced Arizona on Friday, Jan. 30, at the Marriott Center. The Cougars earned their first Big 12 victory of the season, defeating the Wildcats 196.300-195.250. BYU is currently undefeated at home, with three wins at the Marriott Center this season. BYU will compete against Southern Utah for the second time this season on Friday, with the first meeting coming at the Best of Utah quad meet at the Maverik Center in early January. At that competition, the Cougars bested the Thunderbirds 195.725-195.675. BYU and Southern Utah met three times during the 2025 season, with the Thunderbirds winning all three meetings.

THE THUNDERBIRDS. SUU last competed against San Jose State and Texas Woman’s University in a tri-meet on Sunday, Feb. 1. The Flippin’ Birds took home a second-place finish with a score of 195.525, highlighted by junior Niya Randolph’s all-around victory. Sophomore Mia Hampton also shined with a meet-high 9.9 on the uneven bars.
