IRVING, Texas — Coming off an upset victory at No. 14 Clemson, BYU’s Brynlee Andersen-Broekman and Kylie Eaquinto earned two Big 12 weekly honors to close out the regular season, the conference announced Tuesday afternoon.
Andersen-Broekman competed on beam and floor at Clemson, tying her career-high on beam with a 9.975. With a 10.0 from one judge, her 9.975 marked BYU’s highest individual event score during the regular season. She also added a 9.850 on floor, her seventh consecutive week scoring 9.850 or higher on the event.
The Orem, Utah, native has earned three Event Specialist of the Week honors this season and owns nine individual event titles, including eight on beam and one on floor.
Eaquinto earned her second Gymnast of the Week honor of the season behind a career-high all-around score of 39.475 at Clemson. She tied her career-high on vault with a 9.900 and added a career-best 9.875 on beam.
She took first place on both vault and in the all-around, bringing her season total to 10 individual event titles.
The duo accounted for all five Big 12 weekly awards earned by BYU this season.
