ORLANDO — After earning their biggest win of the season at home last week, the No. 53 men’s tennis team hits the road to face the No. 12 Central Florida Knights at the USTA National Campus at 4 p.m. MT on Thursday.

The Cougars are currently 13–3 this season, already surpassing last year’s 12–10 record with six matches still to play. BYU will have the opportunity against UCF to secure its first back-to-back wins over Big 12 opponents in program history.

So far this season, the Cougars are 6–2 on the road but have dropped their last two matches as the visitors, falling to Air Force and Boise State.

BYU has found success in singles play this season, led by Tygen Goldammer, David Duong, Caden Hasler, and Hardy Owen, who have combined for a 34–6 record.

Scouting the Knights

Last season, BYU earned its highest-ranked win in 25 years and its first Big 12 victory with a 4–2 home win over then No. 11 Central Florida. That result evened the all-time series at 1–1. The Knights had previously defeated the Cougars in 2024—the first year both teams were in the Big 12—with a 4–3 comeback victory.

The Knights are 15–2 this season and currently in the midst of a six-match winning streak. UCF has defeated four top-30 teams, with its only two losses coming against top-20 opponents. The most recent was a 4–0 loss to LSU at a neutral site in Texas.

Central Florida has two players ranked in singles: senior Yassine Dlimi, ranked No. 71 with an 8–4 record, and junior Wissam Abderrahman, ranked No. 83 with an 11–5 record, having won seven of his last nine matches.

At No. 12, the Knights are the third-highest ranked team in the Big 12, behind No. 2 TCU and No. 8 Baylor, two teams the Cougars will face on their next road trip in April.

Live scoring and a livestream of the match will be available.
