PROVO, Utah — No. 24 BYU gymnastics will take on No. 12 Utah and West Virginia in a tri meet Saturday afternoon at the Huntsman Center.

THE COUGARS. No. 24 BYU last faced West Virginia in its final Big 12 dual of the season, taking home the 195.975-195.275 win. This marked BYU’s first conference road victory of the season, and brought BYU’s Big 12 record to 4-2, its best record since joining the conference. BYU took home podium finishes on bars, beam and floor at WVU.

COUGARS VS. MOUNTAINEERS. BYU and WVU have now faced five times since the Cougars joined the Big 12 conference. The Cougars hold a perfect 5-0 record against the Mountaineers, including the recent win in Morgantown last weekend. The Mountaineers are looking for their second Big 12 victory this season against Utah on Saturday afternoon.

COUGARS VS. UTES. Since 1999, the Utes and Cougars have faced 33 times, with Utah holding a perfect 33-0 record. BYU faced Utah in a Big 12 dual earlier this season, falling to the Utes 198.025-196.025. Utah earned two Big 12 weekly awards this week as Avery Neff took home Gymnast of the Week and Sage Curtis earned Newcomer of the Week honors. With a 5-0 Big 12 record this season and a win against Denver last week, Utah earned its second-straight Big 12 Gymnastics Regular Season Title, earning a spot in Championship’s second session at 5 p.m. MT on Saturday, Mar. 21.
