FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. – BYU dive saw two Cougars compete in finals on the first day of competition at the NCAA Zone E Championships.

Additionally, all three of BYU’s divers who competed Monday are underclassmen.

Men’s Recap
Representing the Cougars on the men’s side were Martí Llop and Ashton Sparks, who competed in the 3-meter event. Llop opened prelims with a finish in 13th place, totaling a score of 328.85. Sparks took 26th with his score of 291.85.

In finals, Llop took 17th, scoring 284.35 in the event.

Women’s Recap
Freshman Brooklyn Goeckeritz was the sole representative for BYU on the first day of competition. She competed in the 1-meter event, where she earned a 14th-place finish at 255.70 in the preliminary round.

In finals, she ended with a total score of 234.15, earning 18th.
