PROVO, Utah — BYU men's volleyball senior setter Tyler Herget was named MPSF Offensive Player of the Week today for his performance last week against No. 4 USC.

Herget averaged 13.11 assists per set last weekend in a split against the Trojans. Herget had a season-high 55 assists on Friday and a career-high 63 assists on his senior night on Saturday. Herget was all over the court, helping the Cougars hit .357 in the two matches. He also added 10 digs and four blocks.

Herget is currently No. 6 in BYU program history in career assists with 2668. He needs 122 more to reach Rob Neilson who is No. 5 at 2790. He would need to average 41 assists per match in three more matches or 31 assists per match in four more matches to reach No. 5.

The Cougars are at No. 1 UCLA this Thursday and Saturday to close the regular season. After that, BYU hosts the MPSF Tournament April 22-25.
