PROVO, Utah — Head Coach Jennifer Rockwood released the 2026 women’s soccer schedule today.

Coming off a 2025 Big 12 Tournament Championship, the Cougars will play eight non-conference games and 11 conference matches, spanning from early August through early November. BYU will host 10 games, and will be on the road for nine throughout the 2026 season.

Prior to beginning non-conference play, BYU will open the 2026 season with a Blue-White game on South Field (Aug. 1) and a home exhibition match against Idaho State (Aug. 8).

BYU’s non-conference schedule will consist of four home games and four away contests. The Cougars will face two opponents who finished the 2025 season ranked in the Top 25. BYU will open its non-conference schedule with a pair of road matches at No. 17 UCLA (Aug. 12) and No. 15 Wisconsin (Aug. 19) before hosting two games at South Field. 

The Cougars will welcome USC (Aug. 22) and Minnesota (Aug. 27) to Provo before facing in-state opponent Utah Valley up the road in Orem on Monday, Aug. 31. The final two home matches against non-conference opponents will be against Colorado State (Sept. 3) and Oklahoma (Sept. 5). BYU will close its non-conference slate up in Logan against Utah State on Thursday, Sept. 10.

The Cougars will open their Big 12 schedule on the road at Arizona on Friday, Sept. 18. BYU will then host three home games against UCF (Sept. 24), TCU (Sept. 28) and Kansas State (Oct. 2) before playing two road games at West Virginia (Oct. 8) and Cincinnati (Oct. 12).

The Cougars return to South Field to take on Texas Tech on Friday, Oct. 16, before a two-game road trip to Kansas (Oct. 22) and Iowa State (Oct. 26).

BYU will end its 2026 Big 12 slate on South Field, hosting rival Utah (Oct. 30) and Arizona State (Nov. 5). 

Following the conclusion of the 2026 regular season, the eight-team single-elimination Big 12 Soccer Tournament will run from Monday, Nov. 9, through Saturday, Nov. 14. The NCAA Tournament bracket will be announced later in November. 

Non-Conference Opponents

At UCLA - Aug. 12

UCLA and BYU will compete for the 11th time when the Cougars travel to California for the 2026 season opener on Wednesday, Aug. 12, at Wallis Annenberg Stadium. 

The Bruins finished their 2025 season with an overall record of 12-5-4, going 6-2-3 in Big Ten Conference play. They made a run in the NCAA Tournament and faced BYU in the second round, tying 1-1. The Cougars advanced on PK’s (4-2). UCLA finished the 2025 season ranked No. 17 nationally.

At Wisconsin - Aug. 19

Wisconsin and BYU will face off for the fourth time in program history this season. The teams last played in 2024 when the Cougars defeated the Badgers 1-0.

The Badgers finished their 2025 season ranked 15th nationally, with an overall record of 14-6-2 and a conference record of 6-3-2. Wisconsin earned a spot in the NCAA Tournament, falling to 5-seed Baylor, 1-0, in the first round.

USC - Aug. 22

USC and BYU have met 10 times previously, with the most recent being in 2023 when the Cougars topped the Trojans 1-0.

The Trojans earned a 7-7-3 overall finish to the 2025 season, going 4-5-2 in conference play. They faced Northwestern in the first round of the Big Ten Tournament and lost 1-0.

Minnesota - Aug. 27

Minnesota and BYU will meet for the fourth time in program history on South Field on Thursday, Aug. 27. The teams faced off last year, with the Cougars taking home the win, 3-1.

The Gophers finished the 2025 season 6-8-3 overall, going 2-6-3 in Big Ten play. 

At Utah Valley - Aug. 31

Utah Valley and BYU will compete for the 11th time at UCCU Stadium on Monday, Aug. 31. Last year, the Cougars defeated the Wolverines 2-0 on South Field. 

The Wolverines finished their 2025 season with an overall record of 14-5-3, going undefeated in WAC play, with a record of 9-0-1. After falling to Cal Baptist in the WAC Tournament Championship, the Wolverines lost to Colorado 2-1 in double overtime in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.

Colorado State - Sept. 3

BYU will face Colorado State for the first time in program history on Thursday, Sept. 3, on South Field. 

The Rams finished their 2025 season with an overall record of 10-4-5, going 4-2-4 in Mountain West Conference play. Their season ended with a loss to SDSU in the MWC Championship.

Oklahoma - Sept. 5

BYU and Oklahoma have faced off on the pitch five times previously, with the most recent meeting ending in a BYU 6-0 win in 2023. 

The Sooners finished the 2025 season with an overall record of 10-5-4, going 3-4-3 in conference play. They fell 1-0 to Mississippi State in their SEC Tournament debut. 

At Utah State - Sept. 10

The Cougars and Aggies will compete for the 21st time in program history on Thursday, Sept. 10, to close out BYU’s non-conference slate. BYU and Utah State faced off twice last season, once in the regular season and again in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. After defeating the Aggies 2-0 during regular season play, BYU advanced to the second round of the tournament after an 11-round penalty shootout. 

The Aggies earned their third-straight MWC Tournament title in 2025, finishing the year with an overall record of 10-6-7 and going 5-2-3 in conference play.

Big 12 Opponents

At Arizona - Sept. 18

BYU and Arizona will open Big 12 play on Friday, Sept. 18, in Tucson. This will be the 16th all-time meeting between the two teams. Last year, BYU beat the Wildcats 3-2 on South Field.

Arizona finished the 2025 season with an overall record of 7-11-1, going 2-8-1 in conference play. The Wildcats’ two Big 12 wins were back-to-back home victories against UCF and Oklahoma State.

UCF - Sept. 24

UCF and BYU have only met twice, with the series tied 1-1. The Cougars and Knights played at the UCF Soccer and Track Complex last season, and BYU fell 2-1.

The Knights finished the 2025 season with an overall record of 12-4-5, going 5-1-5 in Big 12 play. UCF made a run in the NCAA Tournament, falling to Duke 1-0 in the second round.

TCU - Sept. 28

TCU and BYU have played 14 times, most recently in the first round of the 2025 Big 12 Soccer Tournament when the teams battled to a 2-2 draw, resulting in a PK shootout won by the Cougars.

The Horned Frogs won their second consecutive Big 12 regular season title last year, going 9-1-1 in conference play and earning the top seed to the Big 12 Soccer Tournament. Their season ended in the second round of the NCAA Tournament with a 1-0 loss to the eventual National Champions, Florida State.

Kansas State - Oct. 2

Kansas State and BYU will compete for the fourth time in program history after not seeing each other in the 2025 season. The last time the teams met was in 2024 when the Cougars won 1-0.

The Wildcats finished the 2025 season with a 7-6-5 overall record, going 2-5-4 in Big 12 play.

At West Virginia - Oct. 8

West Virginia and BYU have competed just twice, with the last ending in a 3-2 Mountaineers victory in 2025.

The Mountaineers concluded the 2025 season with a 14-3-4 overall record, going undefeated in conference play with a record of 8-0-3. Their run in the NCAA Tournament was cut short in the second round when Georgetown advanced on penalty kicks after a 1-1 draw in double overtime.

At Cincinnati - Oct. 12

Cincinnati and BYU will compete for the third time in series history, with the last game ending in a 3-0 victory for the Cougars last season.

The Bearcats finished the 2025 season with an overall record of 5-8-6, going 3-6-2 in Big 12 play.

Texas Tech - Oct. 16

Texas Tech and BYU have faced off just twice and did not play during the 2025 season. The most recent match between the two teams came in 2024 when BYU beat the Red Raiders 2-1.

The Red Raiders finished the 2025 season with an overall record of 14-2-5, going 7-1-3 in Big 12 play. Their season ended in the second round of the NCAA Tournament when UNC advanced on penalty kicks after the match ended in a 1-1 draw in double overtime.

At Kansas - Oct. 22

Kansas and BYU have competed eight times in series history, with the most recent meeting being a BYU 1-0 victory in the 2025 Big 12 Soccer Tournament Championship match.

The Jayhawks finished the 2025 season with an overall record of 16-6-3, going 6-4-1 in Big 12 play. Their season ended in a 2-0 loss to Duke in the Sweet 16 at Joskinen Stadium.

At Iowa State - Oct. 26

Iowa State and BYU will compete for the third time on Monday, Oct. 26, in Ames. The teams last competed in 2024, and BYU won 3-1.

The Cyclones finished their 2025 campaign with an overall record of 4-9-4, going 1-8-2 in Big 12 play. Iowa State’s lone Big 12 victory was a 1-0 win against Arizona.

Utah - Oct. 30

Utah and BYU will compete for the 39th time this season, the longest-standing rivalry in BYU women’s soccer history. After a 2-0 victory by the Cougars at Ute Field in the final game of the 2025 regular season, BYU earned the final spot in the Big 12 Soccer Tournament.

The Utes finished the 2025 schedule with an overall record of 7-10-3, going 2-7-2 in Big 12 play.

Arizona State - Nov. 5

BYU will host Arizona State in the final match of the regular season at South Field on Thursday, Nov. 5. The two teams have faced each other six times, with the most recent meeting being an ASU 2-1 victory in 2025.

The Sun Devils finished their 2025 season with an overall record of 10-5-4, going 3-5-3 in conference play. Their season ended with a 0-0 draw against rival Arizona at Mulcahy Stadium.
