SURPRISE, Arizona— After outslugged Texas Tech 18-8 in game one of the Big 12 Conference Tournament on Tuesday, No. 9 seed BYU turns its attention to a second round match up with No. 8 seed Baylor. The game is set for Wednesday, May 20 at Surprise Stadium with first pitch scheduled for 4:30 p.m. MST (5:30 MDT).
KNOW THE FOE. Baylor and BYU finished the regular season with an identical conference record of 14-16. BU was 28-26 overall for the season while BYU was 27-27. Baylor earned the No. 8 seed and a first-round bye due to winning the regular-season head-to-head series 2-1 in Waco, April 2-4.
Wednesday marks just the ninth all-time meeting between BYU and Baylor in baseball. The Bears lead the series 6-2, but the two schools have never met at a neutral site.
REGULAR SEASON RECAP: BYU wrapped up the 2026 regular season last Saturday with 6-5 victory over Big 12 regular season champion Kansas in Provo. The Cougars won four conference series throughout the season to tie for eighth with Baylor.
