Five Cougars earn Big 12 academic honors

IRVING, Texas — Five BYU women's volleyball student-athletes received academic awards from the Big 12, the league announced on Tuesday afternoon.

Anna Blamires, Grace Fredrick and Kaylee Tingey were honored on the Big 12's Academic All-Rookie Team, which recognizes freshman who have completed 24 semester hours and posted at least a 3.0 GPA while participating in one or more of their team's contests.

Emma Barbero and Macy Marshall received the Big 12's Dr. Gerald Lage Academic Achievement Award, honoring student-athletes who have lettered at least once in their career, earned 90+ credit hours and posted a GPA of 3.8 or higher.
