IRVING, Texas — Nine BYU softball student-athletes received academic awards from the Big 12, the league announced on Tuesday afternoon.

Abbey Carroll, Miranda Mansfield, Gianna Mares, Hailey Morrow, Hailey Shuler, Bre Townsend, Tristen Turlington, Maddie Udall-Woolley and Irma Urincho each picked up the conference honors.

Mansfield, Morrow, Shuler, Townsend, Turlington and Udall-Woolley were named to the Big 12 Spring Academic Team, honoring student-athletes who maintained a 3.2 GPA or higher and competed in at least 20% of their team's contests.

Urincho was honored on the Big 12's Academic All-Rookie Team, which recognizes freshman who have completed 24 semester hours and posted at least a 3.0 GPA while participating in one or more of their team's contests.

Carroll, Mares and Morrow received the Big 12's Dr. Gerald Lage Academic Achievement Award, honoring student-athletes who have lettered at least once in their career, earned 90+ credit hours and posted a GPA of 3.8 or higher.
