The Cougars will play a pair of exhibition games for a second straight season with Nebraska set to visit the Marriott Center on Oct. 16 before making the short trip to Las Vegas to face UNLV at Thomas & Mack Center on Oct. 24.
BYU opens the 2026-27 season on Monday, Nov. 2, against Ohio State at the Delta Center in Salt Lake City. They are 3-4 all-time against the Buckeyes with their last meeting coming on December 29, 1997, at the Rainbow Classic, a 72-65 win for the Cougars.
The Cougars will play four straight contests at the Marriott Center before heading to Hawaii for the Southwest Maui Invitational. The home opener is set for Nov. 6 against Omaha before hosting Queens for a second all-time meeting on Nov. 10. Two days later, Nov. 12, BYU will face Montana State before hosting fellow Big Sky member Northern Colorado on Nov. 18.
They make a trip to the Southwest Maui Invitational for the first time since 2019 on Nov. 23-25 and could potentially face Clemson, Colorado State, Ole Miss, Providence, VCU, Washington or Arizona. The bracket for the eight-team tournament will be released in late July.
BYU will play its second game at the home of the NBA’s Utah Jazz on Saturday, Dec. 5, when the Cougars welcome Northwestern to the Beehive State. It will be the first all-time meeting between the two programs and the Wildcats first trip to the Delta Center since the 2017 NCAA Tournament.
A showdown against the Aggies of Utah State on Dec. 9 is the first of three straight home games for the Cougars. They host Cal State Fullerton on Dec. 12 before Weber State makes its first trip to the Marriott Center since 2022 on Dec. 15.
The Cougars face former Mountain West rival San Diego State on Saturday, Dec. 19, at The Acrisure Series. As part of the deal, the two former Mountain West rivals will face off during the 2027-28 season at the Delta Center. Tip is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. PT at Acrisure Arena.
It will be the 79th all-time meeting between the two schools and first since a 74-65 victory for BYU on Nov. 10, 2023 in Provo. Five Cougars scored in double figures in the win over the 17th ranked Aztecs led by a team-high 18 points from Dallin Hall, who went 6-of-13 from the field including knocking down four 3-pointers
BYU concludes non-conference play on Dec. 22 when La Salle makes its fourth-ever trip to Provo.
FIRST TIME FOR EVERYTHING
The Cougars will face Northwestern and Northern Colorado for the first time in program history during non-conference play. BYU is 59-9 all-time against Big Sky schools including a perfect 27-0 record in Provo and has won two straight games against Big Ten opponents under Young.
IN-STATE SCHEDULING
The Cougars will play a pair of in-state opponents during non-conference play for the first time under head coach Kevin Young.
HOME AWAY FROM HOME
BYU will play two games at the Delta Center for a second straight season beginning with the season opener against Ohio State. The Cougars went 2-0 last season at the Delta Center including a 28-point victory over No. 23 Wisconsin.
BYU is 25-4 all-time in regular season games at the Marriott Center dating back to its first win in the building on March 10, 1994 against Utah.
A RETURN TO THE ISLANDS
They will play in the Southwest Maui Invitational for a fifth time in program history. The Cougars are 6-6 all-time in the tournament with two of those wins coming in their last visit to the islands in 2019.
PROTECTING HOME COURT
The Cougars enter the 2026-27 campaign having won 26 straight non-conference games at the Marriott Center. They have won 40 of their last 42 non-conference matchups in Provo since the beginning of the 2021-22 season.
