PROVO, Utah — BYU student ROC passes for the 2026-27 season will go on sale Monday, Aug. 3 at 10 a.m. Mountain Time, with BYU Athletics instituting a few changes to the claim system for the upcoming season.
The following changes come after reviewing student attendance data and student feedback from the past few seasons.
There will no longer be a first-come, first-served ticket claim for football or men’s basketball tickets. Ticket claim requests will still open Tuesdays at noon before each home game, and ROC pass holders will have 24 hours to request a ticket, but there is no longer a benefit to being the first to request a ticket in that 24-hour window.
Ticket allocation will now be determined based on a system influenced by attendance at BYU’s Olympic team sporting events. These include BYU women’s soccer, women’s volleyball, men’s volleyball, gymnastics, women’s basketball, baseball and softball games. The more of these Olympic sport events a student attends, the better positioned they are to earn stadium entry in an earlier group. A student is not required to attend an Olympic sport event to get a ticket for football or men’s basketball, Olympic sport attendance simply helps boost the chances to get in an earlier entry group.
To better help track student attendance at Olympic sport events, students will be able to scan their tickets when they arrive and also when they leave the event, to show the duration of their attendance at the event. Scanning while leaving the event helps ensure student attendance is legitimate and to prevent abuse of the system. Scanning out is the responsibility of the ROC pass holder and will not be required by event staff to exit the game. Scanning out is required in order to get credit for attending the game.
ROC ticket claims for Olympic sport events will open at 2 p.m. the day of a game or 2 p.m. on Friday for a Saturday event. All BYU Athletics ticketed events will now require students to claim an individual ticket. The claim will be open through the duration of the event or until the ROC fills up, so walk-up tickets will still be possible if there is room in the ROC and the game is not claimed out.
ROC passes will not provide entry at the events. ROC passes simply provide the access for students to claim tickets. The actual tickets will need to be scanned at the events.
Students who claim a ticket for any event but no longer can use it, must return the ticket through their BYU Tickets account so that others can use it. These tickets enter a last-chance claim. The last-chance claim for football tickets opens on Fridays at 10 a.m. for Saturday home games. Students who have a pattern of claiming a ticket, not using it and not returning it for the last-chance claim will have reduced access to tickets moving forward.
The cost of a ROC pass will be $250. A limited number of ROC Spousal Passes will be available that a BYU student can purchase for their non-student spouse for $350. The spousal pass only grants admission to the non-BYU-attending spouse of a BYU Student.
An Olympic ROC Pass will also be available for $75. The Olympic ROC Pass gives a BYU student the opportunity to claim tickets for any regular season Olympic sport event. A Spousal Olympic ROC Pass will also be available for $100.
To purchase a ROC Pass, students can visit byutickets.com and select "student sign in." Students can sign in with their NetID@byu.edu email and enter their existing password or, if this is their first time purchasing a ROC Pass, click "send me a code" to create a password. Students should not create their own, new BYU Tickets account.
To acquire a spousal pass, the online transaction must be completed via the student’s BYU Tickets account. Prior to purchase, students are required to link their account with that of their spouse. Detailed guidance for this procedure is available at byutickets.com/roc.
All ROC passes must be purchased online.
