PROVO – BYU and Oregon State today announced they have moved their 2027 football matchup at LaVell Edwards Stadium in Provo to Aug. 28 to accommodate the new standardized 14-week regular-season calendar format.
Previously scheduled for Sept. 25, 2027, the two schools will now open the 2027 season against each other in what will be the 12th overall contest in a series that dates back to 1955. Oregon State holds a narrow 6-5 advantage in the series after the two schools split the most recent games in 2011 and 2012, with the visiting team coming away with a road win in both games.
The Cougars and Beavers will also meet in the 2028 season in a previously announced Vegas Kickoff Classic matchup at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.
