OKLAHOMA CITY — BYU softball pitcher/outfielder Rita Tavita competed for American Samoa at the International Cup last week, helping the national team pick up a pair of wins.
The five-foot-10 sophomore saw action in four of the team’s five games as American Samoa faced Japan, U.S. Elite, Chinese Taipei, Australia and China.
Tavita pitched a collective 10 innings pitched throughout the week at Devon Park, home of the Women’s College World Series, fanning four batters.
