SAN DIEGO — No. 23 BYU men’s golf will open the 2026-27 season at the Vuori Invitational at Rancho Santa Fe Golf Club on Monday and Tuesday, Sept. 14-15.

Sophomore Kihei Akina will lead a starting lineup that also features returning players Parker Bunn and Jackson Mauss. Freshmen Drake Harvey and Austin Shelley will make their first collegiate starts, while sophomore David Liechty, who transferred from Utah Tech following the 2025-26 season, will make his debut for the Cougars as an individual.

BYU joins 11 other teams in the field, including tournament host San Diego, Arkansas, Cal State Long Beach, Colorado, Colorado State, Oregon, Pacific, San Diego State, San José State, Tulsa and USC.

The Cougars will play 36 holes Monday before an 18-hole final round on Tuesday.

Scoring for the event will be available at scoreboard.com. First-round tee times have not yet been announced.
