The annual Navy vs. Royal meet opened with the mixed 200 medley relay. The Navy A relay team composed of Max Kleinman, Evan Vandersluis, Sarah Eliason and Taylor Bennett finished on top in a time of 1:33.78.
Tatum Cooley, a senior, claimed victory in the 125 butterfly (1:05.16), the 75 freestyle (36.97) and the 25 freestyle (10.62) for team Navy while also helping the Navy A relay team take first in the 200 mixed freestyle in a time of 1:28.20.
For team Royal junior Haylee Tiffany took first in the 600 freestyle (6:17.76) and the 250 freestyle (2:25.25) while taking second behind Cooley in the 125 butterfly (1:05.79), 75 freestyle (37.80) and the 25 freestyle (11.20).
On the men’s side Lucca Ferreira headlined for team Royal winning the 125 butterfly (59.30), 75 freestyle (33.05) and the 25 freestyle (9.61). Tanner Nelson also won the 600 freestyle for team Royal with a time of 5:33.56.
The divers competed in a rip contest with each athlete getting three attempts to earn the lowest score for entry. Brooklyn Goeckeritz took first, Rock Sweet took second and Mckay Lund took third with diving team Royal ending up on top 17-13.
The final score of the meet ended in a team Navy victory 261-235 with points accumulating from the meet as well as competitions between teammates that took place throughout the last week.
