PROVO, Utah — No. 14 BYU women’s soccer (3-1, 0-0 Big 12) is set for a busy weekend at South Field, hosting Colorado State on Thursday before welcoming Oklahoma on Saturday.

THE COUGARS. No. 14 BYU women’s soccer (3-1, 0-0 Big 12) defeated Minnesota 1-0 at South Field on Thursday, Sept. 27. The Cougars are now 2-0 at home this season, notching back-to-back shutouts at South Field. BYU’s lone goal of the match was an own goal by the Golden Gophers, courtesy of Mattyn Summers-Oviatt’s offensive pressure in the box. Despite that being the only goal, the Cougars controlled the match, outshooting Minnesota 12-4 and holding 71% of the possession. The victory was BYU’s 176th shutout on South Field, bringing the overall home record to 260-34-20.

THE RAMS. Colorado State (1-3, 0-0 Pac-12) fell to South Carolina 1-0 Sunday afternoon. Despite the loss, the Rams outshot the Gamecocks 10-8 with four shots on frame compared to USC’s two. CSU also added four corner kicks and held South Carolina to zero. After playing BYU on Thursday night, the Rams will head to St. George to take on Utah Tech Sunday afternoon.

COUGARS VS. RAMS. This will be the first official meeting between BYU and Colorado State.

THE SOONERS. Oklahoma (5-0-1, 0-0 SEC) is still unbeaten through six matches. The Sooners tied Oral Roberts 1-1 on Sunday, Aug. 30 and will face North Texas on Thursday evening before making the trip to Provo. Oklahoma is led by Kayla Keefer who has nine goals and 31 shots in six games. The Sooners have scored 24 total goals and are outsourcing opponents 4-0.33.

COUGARS VS. SOONERS. BYU and Oklahoma have played five times, with the Cougars leading the overall series 4-1. The teams played twice in 2023, with BYU winning both meetings. The Cougars and Sooners last faced off in the first round of the Big 12 Soccer Tournament in 2023, when BYU won 6-0.
