ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — No. 23 BYU men’s golf will compete in the William H. Tucker Invitational on Friday and Saturday, Sept. 25-26, at the UNM Championship Course in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Sophomores Kihei Akina and Parker Bunn headline the lineup alongside freshman Drake Harvey. Seniors Angus Klintworth and Peter Kim round out the starting five, with both making their season debuts. Freshman Austin Shelley will compete as an individual.
BYU joins 14 other teams in the field, including tournament host New Mexico, No. 24 Arizona, Arkansas State, Colorado, Grand Canyon, Long Beach State, Missouri, New Mexico State, San Diego State, Santa Clara, SMU, UC Santa Barbara, UNLV and UTEP.
The Cougars will play 36 holes on Friday before an 18-hole final round on Saturday.
BYU is coming off a fourth-place finish at the Vuori Invitational to open the season. Akina shot 3-under-par to take second individually and claim the eighth top-five finish of his career.
The first round will begin with a shotgun start at 7:30 a.m. MDT on Friday. Live scoring will be available at scoreboard.com. First-round hole assignments are listed below.
