PROVO, Utah - Jane Hedengren earned the honor of Big 12 Cross Country Female Co-Runner of the Week after the first meet of her sophomore season, the conference announced Wednesday afternoon.
This award comes after Hedengren led BYU to victory at the Utah Valley Invitational Friday morning, clocking a 15:08.62 on the three-mile course and running at a pace of 5.03/mile. The women's team won the meet and beat other Utah schools with a score of 19 points.
Hedengren is the reigning Big 12 women’s cross country champion and holds the Big 12 6000-meter record of 18:29.60. She was also crowned as last year's Big 12 Women's Cross Country Newcomer of the Year and Big 12 Women's Cross Country Runner of the Year.
