PROVO, Utah – Men’s tennis participated in the ITA Mountain Regional Tournament, competing in both singles and doubles matches.
The Cougars hosted the tournament for the sixth time in program history and first time since 2021.
BYU began the tournament with two doubles matches on Tuesday against Air Force and the Idaho.
TJ Wells and Tygen Goldammer made quick work of the Vandals, dominating from start to finish in a 8-2 win. Against Air Force, Yubel Ubri and Leon Peranovic went back and forth in the first couple of sets before taking control late and finishing the match off, 8-3.

The Cougars began their singles play on Wednesday with two wins against Utah State and New Mexico, both putting the Cougars in the Round of 32. In his match against the Aggies, Ubri’s strong showing gave him a 6-3, 6-2 victory. Caden Hasler pulled off the late comeback in his singles match, rebounding from a first set loss to win 5-7, 7-5, 6-4. Wells and Goldammer advanced in their doubles draw, taking down Nevada 8-2, before falling in the Round of 16 to UNLV.
Thursday saw the end of the tournament for the Cougars as Hasler and Ubri came up short in two hard fought singles matches against Idaho State and Utah.
The Cougars will be back in action starting October 29th, playing in the SMU Invitational in Dallas, Texas.
