SOUTHAMPTON, Bermuda — BYU men’s golfer Kihei Akina and former Cougars Zac Blair and Patrick Fishburn will compete in the PGA Tour’s Butterfield Bermuda Championship beginning Thursday at Port Royal Golf Course.

The three Cougars join a 120-player field competing in 72 holes of stroke play from Thursday through Sunday, Oct. 22-25. Following 36 holes, the top 65 players and ties will make the cut and advance to the final two rounds.

Akina qualified for the event after finishing ninth at the Bank of Utah Championship earlier this month. The sophomore made his third consecutive PGA Tour cut before carding back-to-back 6-under 65s to finish at 20 under and earn his first top-10 finish in a PGA Tour event.
