ATLANTA – BYU guard Delaney Gibb was named to the 2026–27 Jersey Mike’s Naismith Trophy Women’s College Player of the Year Watch List, the Atlanta Tipoff Club announced on Thursday.

The junior has been tabbed to the 50-player preseason watch list in back-to-back seasons and is one of eight Big 12 players represented. Gibb is joined on the watch list by Baylor’s Talia Scott, Colorado’s Zyanna Walker, Kansas' S’Mya Nichols, Oklahoma State's Audi Crooks and Liv McGill, TCU’s Clara Silva, and West Virginia’s Gia Cooke.

Gibb received All-Big 12 Preseason Team honors as a unanimous selection on Oct. 8 and was selected to the Ann Meyers Drysdale Shooting Guard of the Year Preseason Top 20 on Tuesday ahead of the fast-approaching season.

The native of Raymond, Alberta, earned an All-Big 12 First Team selection a season ago after being one of three players in NCAA Division I to average 18 points, five rebounds, four assists and two steals per game. The other two players were Notre Dame's Hannah Hidalgo and Liv McGill, who played at Florida before transferring to Oklahoma State for the 2026–27 season.

She is one of four Division I players to accumulate at least 1,000 points, 300 rebounds, 200 assists and 100 steals as an underclassman over the past two seasons, along with Ohio State’s Jaloni Cambridge, Oklahoma State’s Liv McGill (previously at Florida) and UConn’s Sarah Strong.

Gibb helped the Cougars set several program bests in 2025–26. Led by the then-sophomore, BYU set program records for total wins (26), home wins (15), non-conference winning percentage (11-1, .917), Big 12 conference wins (9), Big 12 Tournament wins (2) and postseason wins (4).

In BYU’s lone exhibition contest ahead of the 2026–27 season, the Cougar floor general went 5 of 6 from the floor and 3 of 4 from 3-point range for 13 points, six assists, four rebounds and a steal in just 18 minutes of action.
