PROVO, Utah – BYU women’s soccer (7-2-2, 3-0-1 Big 12) hits the road for a two-game Big 12 stretch, taking on No. 16 West Virginia Thursday and Cincinnati Monday.

THE COUGARS. BYU women’s soccer (7-2-2, 3-0-1 Big 12) extended its South Field unbeaten streak to 6-0-1 with a 2-1 win over Kansas State on Friday, Oct. 2. It was the first game this season where the Cougars went into halftime down 1-0 and came back to win. With the win, BYU has now won three-straight Big 12 matches for the first time since 2023. Afton Perry scored her second goal of the season to equalize, followed by Bella Wood’s first goal at BYU with a successful penalty kick to secure the victory.
THE MOUNTAINEERS. West Virginia (7-1-2, 2-1-1 Big 12) beat Houston 2-0 on Friday, Oct. 2 at the Carl Lewis International Complex in Houston, Texas. Junior Sophia Nickel scored her fifth game-winning goal of the season. Olivia Shertzer also added a goal, helping the Mountaineers hand Houston its first Big 12 Conference loss of the season.
COUGARS VS. MOUNTAINEERS. BYU and West Virginia have played just twice, with the series tied 1-1. The teams played at South Field last season, with the Mountaineers taking home the 3-2 victory. BYU’s only win against West Virginia was a 1-0 victory back in 2009. This year’s matchup will be BYU’s first top-25 matchup of the 2026 season.
THE BEARCATS. Cincinnati (2-5-4, 0-3-1 Big 12) is still looking for its first Big 12 win after losing three-straight to open conference play. The Bearcats will take on the University of Utah on Thursday, Oct. 8 before welcoming the Cougars to Gettler Stadium on Monday evening.
COUGARS VS. BEARCATS. BYU and Cincinnati have played just twice, with BYU leading the series 1-0-1. The Cougars beat the Bearcats 3-0 at South Field last season. This will be the first meeting in Cincinnati between the two programs, with both previous meetings being in Provo.
