PROVO, Utah — In recognition of her more than three decades of leadership and lasting impact on BYU women's soccer, BYU Athletics is proud to announce the creation of the Jennifer Rockwood Endowed Soccer Scholarship Fund.
The $500,000 donor-funded endowment will honor Coach Rockwood's legacy by providing scholarship support for deserving BYU women's soccer student-athletes for years to come. The fund will help ensure future Cougars have the opportunity to wear the BYU patch and represent the program Rockwood has built over 32 seasons.
The announcement comes as Rockwood closes out her 32nd and final regular season at the helm of BYU women's soccer and prepares to lead the Cougars into one final postseason run.
"Jennifer Rockwood is BYU women’s soccer," said BYU Director of Athletics Brian Santiago. “This endowed scholarship is a great way to remember her legacy in a truly meaningful way, blessing the lives of student-athletes into the future.”
Rockwood is the only head coach in BYU women's soccer history. Over her 32 seasons leading the Cougars, she has built one of the premier programs in collegiate soccer, compiling more than 480 career victories and establishing a tradition of sustained success on the national stage.
During her tenure, the Cougars have made 26 NCAA Tournament appearances, including two College Cup appearances. In 2021, Rockwood led BYU to its first-ever NCAA National Championship game, where the Cougars finished as national runners-up. BYU returned to the College Cup semifinals in 2023.
Rockwood's teams have captured 17 regular-season conference championships and nine conference tournament titles across four conferences. She has coached 24 All-Americans, nine MAC Hermann Trophy candidates and 18 players who have gone on to compete professionally.
While her accomplishments are reflected in the record books, Rockwood's impact extends far beyond wins, championships and postseason appearances. Throughout more than three decades, she has built a culture of excellence, shaped generations of student-athletes and left a lasting mark on the BYU women's soccer program and the countless players who have had the opportunity to play for her.
