PROVO, Utah – BYU’s Richie Saunders suffered a season-ending ACL injury in the first minute of the Cougars' 90-86 overtime victory over Colorado on Saturday afternoon.
During his four seasons in Provo, Saunders appeared in 128 games, scoring 1,544 points while shooting 50.2 percent from the field, 38.7 percent from 3-point range and 78.8 percent from the free throw line.
The 2025 Big 12 Most Improved Player of the Year also ranks eighth in program history in 3-point field goal makes (205) and attempts (530). He is also ranks 12th in steals (133), 15th in 20-point games, 17th in 30-point games, 20th in free throw percentage (78.8) and 20th in steals per game (1.04)
No. 22 BYU is back on the road on Wednesday, Feb. 18, when the Cougars take on No. 1 Arizona at McKale Center in Tucson.
