- Daughter of David and Tresa
- Mother, Tresa Spaulding Hamson, played basketball at BYU from 1983-1987.
- Heather's sisters Jennifer and Sara also suited up for the BYU women's team
- Majoring in exercise science with the desire to go into athletic training
