- Graduated from BYU in 2007 with a degree in communications with an emphasis in advertising
- Currently working on a master’s degree from Southern Utah University in human performance
Prior to BYU
- Managed and operated a live-in weight facility in St. George, Utah
- Managed the marketing and advertising for multiple Marriott brands in Salt Lake City, Utah

Personal
- Eighth of nine children
- Married to Tawny Parks Bybee, who also competed for BYU in both cross country and track and field as a steeplechaser
- Resides in Lehi, Utah
- Has three children
- Loves anything outdoors, all sports and spending time with his family
