Responsibilities
Merrill has been involved with the BYU athletic training program for more than 20 years. She was appointed as the Directory of Sports Medicine in July 2005, making her head athletic trainer. Currently she is the team athletic trainer for women's volleyball, women's gymnastics and women's golf teams.
While at BYU, Merrill has been involved in both clinical work and teaching. Merrill served as the undergraduate athletic training curriculum director from 1995-2000 and was involved with the 2002 Olympic Winter Games, serving on the Salt Lake Organizing Committee as the athletes medical care coordinator.
Education
Received a bachelor's degree in Physical Education/Athletic Training from BYU in 1978 and a master's in athletic training from Indiana University in 1979.

Worked for two years as an assistant athletic trainer at Pittsburg State University in Kansas.
Merrill has also been Athlete Care Coordinator and Venue Medical Supervisor for the Salt Lake Organizing Committee, 2002 Olympic Winter Games.
