Bunn Named National Video Coordinator of the Year

Chad Bunn, video coordinator for the Brigham Young University Athletic Department, has been awarded the CSVA/Bob Matey National Video Coordinator of the Year award by the members of the Collegiate Sports Video Association. Bunn was presented the award during the association's annual awards banquet in New Orleans, which culminates a three-day educational seminar and convention.

A native of Richmond, Utah, Bunn is in his 19th year with the BYU athletic department. He began his career in 1981 as a student equipment manager. After taking two years off from school to complete a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Bunn returning to the program for the 1984 national championship season. Bunn graduated in 1989 with a bachelor's degree in broadcast communications and has held his current position as video coordinator for the past 12 years.

Bunn and 13 other video coordinators from around the country were selected as their conference's video coordinator of the year. Each conference winner is then eligible for the national award, which is voted on by

the membership of the Collegiate Sports Video Association. The award is named in memory of the late Texas A&M video coordinator Bob Matey.

"Because it comes from my peers, this is a great honor," said Bunn upon receiving the award. "There are a lot of great video coordinators in our organization, and I'm sure there are ones more qualified than me for this award. This truly is a great honor."

Bunn serves on various community boards and organizations in Utah County. He is currently president of the board of trustees for InterMountain Specialized Abuse and Treatment centers, a not-for-profit organization that provides treatment to abused children. He is also a member of the Kiwanis Club and serves as a committee chairman with the local chapter of Volunteer of America.

Bunn is a charter member of the Collegiate Sports Video Association which was founded eight years ago. He served as the organization's first president for six years, helping the organization become firmly established as the only national association for college video coordinators. The CSVA/Bob Matey National Video Coordinator of the Year award was established to recognize the outstanding work done by college video coordinators.
