In the prelim round, Brad Prolo began his week of competition in the 200-yard IM event. Prolo went on to swim a 1:47.84 to come in 56th place among the rest of the field, ultimately missing the cut to compete in the Thursday night finals event for the stroke.

Strauss later went on to compete in the 1-meter dive to represent the Cougars. His six dives resulted in a final score of 293.75, coming in 45th place out of the 50 man field. Strauss also would miss the cut to compete in the Thursday night finals.

Friday's events will see Strauss and Prolo compete again for BYU, this time with Strauss in the 3-meter dive, while Prolo will swim in the 100-yard breaststroke.
