PROVO, Utah – In addition to collecting conference player of the week accolades, senior outside hitter Jake Langlois has been named the Sports Imports/AVCA Division I-II National Player of the Week after leading No. 3 BYU men's volleyball to a pair crucial conference wins against No. 4 Hawai'i last week.

Langlois was instrumental over the weekend in the two-match sweep of the Rainbow Warriors. On Friday, he posted 13 kills on a .450 clip while adding five digs (one shy of the match high), three blocks and two aces. In the series finale on Saturday, Langlois collected a team-high 12 kills while adding six blocks (second-most in the match).

On the week, he contributed an impressive all-around effort of 5.50 points per set, 4.17 kills per set, 1.50 blocks per set, 1.17 digs per set and 0.50 aces per set.

The wins keep BYU on pace for first place in the conference, currently standing a half match behind No. 1 Long Beach State, who it plays this weekend.

This is Langlois' first career AVCA weekly honor. This is BYU's second AVCA weekly honor of the season as Ben Patch won the award on Feb. 7.

The Cougars play host to Princeton March 21, at 7 p.m. MDT, before the homestand against the 49ers on Friday and Saturday.
