SALT LAKE CITY, Utah -- Lexi Eaton's first double-double of the season helped BYU women's basketball defeat Colorado State 69-58 at EnergySolutions Arena on Saturday.
"I'm really happy, it's a nice win for us," BYU women's basketball head coach Jeff Judkins said. "[Colorado State] is a very good team, they're going to win their conference. I thought Lexi played an outstanding game. She really took it upon herself to move and get the ball and scored in a lot of different ways today. It was nice to see our bench play a lot better today as well."
Eaton scored a season-high 30 points, grabbed a career-high 13 rebounds and added three assists.
The Cougars (5-3) used extended runs midway through each half to take and maintain a double-digit advantage over the Rams (4-3).
Xojian Harry tied her career high with 13 points and added three rebounds, while Morgan Bailey finished with 9 points and 10 rebounds. Ashley Garfield grabbed nine rebounds, made four assists and scored two points.
A 13-2 run midway through the first half gave BYU a 10-point lead at 21-11, which they extended to as many as 12 on multiple occasions before half.
Both teams went into half on a cold streak from the field. They were a combined 3 of 20 to close out the first half as BYU led 33-25.
Eaton scored 15 points and grabbed seven rebounds in the first half to lead all players.
In the second half, an 10-0 run extended BYU's lead to 18 at 55-37 on five points from Xojian Harry and five from Eaton.
BYU maintained its lead as the Cougars were able to score 10 more second chance points than the Rams. BYU outrebounded Colorado State 45-35 and 15-12 in offensive rebounds. Eaton and Garfield were responsible for four offensive rebounds each.
The Cougars continue their season at home in the Marriott Center against Weber State on Tuesday, Dec. 9 at 7 p.m. MST. The game will be broadcast on BYUtv.

The Cougars held Colorado State to 1 of 9 field goals during a 13-2 run over 4:58 to lead 21-11 in the first half. After leading 23-13, 5 of 8 field goals by BYU were made from beyond the arc.
BYU's largest lead came with 9:59 remaining in the game with an 18-point lead up 57-41.
The Cougars outrebounded CSU 45-35 including 15 offensive rebounds. They also scored 16 second-chance points.

Lexi Eaton finished with a season-high 30 points on 10 of 18 shooting and 5 of 7 from deep. She also pulled down a career-high 13 rebounds to go along with three assists.
Xojian Harry tied a career-high 13 points, going 5 of 6 from the field and 2 of 3 from 3-point range. She also added three rebounds on the day.
Morgan Bailey added nine points, 10 rebounds and three assists with Ashley Garfield pulling down nine rebounds and dishing out four assists.
Cassie Broadhead contributed six points, while Kylie Maeda finished with five points, five assists, four rebounds, an assist and one block. ​
