Riley Named WCC Player of the Week

SAN BRUNO, Calif. -- The West Coast Conference has announced its women's basketball Player of the Week award-winner for January 30.

BYU senior center Kristen Riley is the WCC Women's Basketball Player of the Week for January 30. Riley averaged 16.5 points and 10.5 rebounds last week as No. 23 BYU won at Seattle and Santa Clara.

Riley had 16 points and 10 rebounds in the game at Seattle last Wednesday. The double-double against the Broncos marked the fourth she's collected in WCC play, the fifth of the year and the ninth of her career. Of the 17 points she tallied against Santa Clara, 12 were from 3-point range which were season and career bests for her in treys made in a game.  

In both contests the points and rebounds were team highs.

For the week, Riley totaled 33 points for a 16.5 average, shot 72.2 percent from the field and 66.7 from behind the arc while shooting 60 percent from the free throw line. She also grabbed 10.5 boards, dished out a total of five assists, one block and two steals.

Riley leads the team in points and rebounds in WCC games with an average of 14.9 points and 8.4 rebounds.
